All caught up? It’s safe for you to move forward.
Now, the fourth episode of the final season of Game of Thrones was considered one of the most “disappointing” episodes of the series by fans. Fans were not happy about how many different events seemed to take place.
One of the most disappointing moment took place between Jon Snow and his direwolf, Ghost.

In episode one, fans were disgruntled about the lack of Ghost in the episode. The showrunners made up for it by including the direwolf in the great Battle of Winterfell, but it was what happened after the battle that left fans seriously unhappy.
When Jon made the decision to ask Tormund to take Ghost with him back to the North where he’d be most happy, we expected a lot more emotions between Jon and Ghost. As Jon and Ghost have been through so much together since season one, fans were expecting at least a pat from Jon, especially as this decision meant that the two would probably never see each other again.
But, nothing. All he got was a nod from Jon. A nod. That’s it.
Ghost’s crushed expression - with his one ear now a victim of the battle; as Jon walked away from him, crushed us beyond belief. Fans were outraged by the lack of a proper farewell scene between Jon and his loyal companion.
According to Game of Thrones’ director, David Nutter, there was a reason for this. Speaking to Huffington Post, he said:
“Since the direwolves are kind of CG creations, we felt it best to keep it as simple as possible. And I think that it played out much more powerfully that way. Keeping Ghost off to the side, I thought that played out better… Then he just walks off by himself, he turns to Ghost and has this moment with Ghost that I thought was very, very powerful.”

Um… But the dragons were CG creations too…? And we had five minutes of Drogon and Rhaegal flying around in the first episode? We have a lot more questions.
We’ll say what Jon clearly didn’t in the episode. Ghost, you’re the goodest boy ever. We hope he’s getting all the hugs, pats, and love he deserves in the North.
What did you think about that parting scene between Jon and Ghost?
