Many Malaysians who had their weddings planned out in 2020 were unfortunately forced to cancel it because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but some Malaysian gamers came up with an alternative way for people to attend their wedding!
Some Malaysian gamers decided to recreate a Malay themed wedding on the popular action-adventure game, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) and we are impressed!
The wedding that was created using the custom modifications in the game spares no attention to details, from the groom walk to the bride’s home to a special dance performance by the groom’s party.
There’s also some hilarious and random instances from a “pak cik” discussing how everyone should do a TikTok video together to the appearance of an alien driving a Back To The Future Delorean and a delivery rider.
Rela members, photographers, and caterers were also present at the wedding, making it look like a scene from a real life wedding!
The video that was initially livestreamed on Facebook was later uploaded to YouTube and the internet is impressed and have found it hilarious at the same time!
Streamer Abe Wea revealed that the custom modifications were made by Arief Solehin and Isma Danial from Johor using FiveM from scratch and was held in the MYRP server in GTA V.
“MYRP was the first ever server to introduce a Malaysian touch in it and now there are also other servers implementing the same thing.”
“There were around 40 to 50 players involved with the wedding and the server itself can contain up to 120 players at a time,” Azwan told Malay Mail.
Well with the size and capacity, looks like Malaysians who are eager to have their own wedding can first organise them in GTA V until weddings are allowed again!
Many people are taking their event to the virtual world, with Japanese students previously creating their own graduation ceremony in Minecraft too!
It was also revealed that a “Hari Raya” modification is currently being set up by the gamers that will take place in a virtual traditional Malaysian village!
It’s definitely impressive to see the work and creation of our young Malaysian minds and it definitely provided us with some laughter in these difficult times!
