Many of us are willing to go the extra mile for our loved ones but one woman decided to risk her life to save her boyfriend’s figurines!
A woman in Chongqing, China recently went viral after she reportedly braved the flood to rescue the Gundam collection that belonged to her partner.
The boyfriend said that he had bought an inflatable raft prior to the flood after flooding and heavy rain was forecasted, and he moved his belongings to the second floor of the office.
After he found out that the water level would rise even higher, he decided to head back to the office to rescue his Gundam collection, but his girlfriend stopped him and went instead because he can’t swim.
“The water wasn’t very rapid and was stagnant after it rose, plus I’m a swimmer myself and used to swim across the Yangtze River and have my life jacket on so I felt safe,” the girlfriend said.
She then wore the life jacket and headed back to the house. She even broke a window to enter the second floor of the building, getting a cut to her finger in the process, but she managed to successfully retrieve the man's entire Gundam collection with her in the raft!
“At the time I wasn’t thinking about the Gundam at all. I was constantly worried that the raft would overturn and kept looking at the direction where she went,” the boyfriend said.
Many netizens were impressed by the girlfriend’s brave act after he shared her good deed on Weibo with the caption, “she rowed the boat and broke the window to save my Gundam, I will never let you down in this life!”
Other users were also touched by the sacrifices she made for love and hoped that they too could find someone who loved them as much.
