Unexpected things happen to us sometimes, but this man never thought that his night would end up with him being locked up for days.
Muhammad Amirul was locked up in a house in Melaka for five days after he met up with a man that claimed he wanted to buy the smartphones he was selling.
He said that he had met up with the guy to deliver three smartphones worth more than RM17,000 at a business premise in Sungai Besi when the man gave excuses saying he needed to withdraw money first.
"As soon as he arrived, the man asked me to follow him into his car in the parking lot under the building, allegedly not wanting people to see when counting the money, he brought," he told Harian Metro.
That’s when two other men appeared, and the buyer sprayed mosquito repellent to his eyes and punched him before tying his hands and mouth with duct tape.
“I tried to scream for help at that time but no one noticed before they continued to move to a pharmacy around Sungai Besi.”
"I was then given 10 pills and forced to eat them, causing the beginning of a semi-conscious state," he said.
He was then taken to a house in Ayer Keroh, Melaka where he was locked up with other men that were believed to be the buyer’s friends and the three of them left.
The friends of the buyer also allegedly pretended to be a policeman and said that he was arrested for committing an offence.
He added that he also dreamt about being rescued by the police and his dream became a reality when he was released after the police raided the house.
His 50-year-old father received news that his son was rescued saying, “I am thankful the child is safe and thankful to the police who tracked down and rescued the child.”
The father, Sudirman Daek was at a dead-end when he received news on his son’s disappearance and suspected that he was abducted because they found the motorcycle that belonged to the son which was left unlocked.
He also said that his son would inform him wherever he goes but failed to be contacted after making his phone delivery to the customer.
His friend Yusof previously said that, “The whole time we communicated via WhatsApp and the last message he told me was at the restaurant waiting for the buyer to withdraw money to make the payment in cash. Then his WhatsApp did not reply again, and I tried to contact him but failed.”
"I contacted the buyer but the man claimed not to have met Amirul. Strangely, he blocked my call and did not ask me to return the RM100 deposit paid earlier," he said. He also lodged a police report on the day of the incident.
Amirul said that he was only given rice and biscuits a few times while he was abducted and wasn’t even given anything to eat sometimes.
The 25-year-old man was finally able to reunite with his friends and family after he was rescued by the police.
We hope everyone can take extra precautions going out and hope this incident won’t happen to anyone else!
