Many of us think hedgehogs are super cute and it’s natural for us to want to protect them at all cost, and that’s exactly what this Japanese zoo did!
A photo from a Japanese zoo recently went viral showing how they replaced the hedgehog on display with a brush because the weather was too cold outside!
The tweet wrote “I came and saw a brush”, showing a sign written by the zoo that said, “since it's cold outside we have decided to not display the hedgehog.”
“We have, instead, displayed a brush because the two look alike. Please come and visit us again when the weather is warmer.”
Many people thought the zoo’s decision was thoughtful and super cute, with one user posting a drawing imagining the hedgehogs gathering around the brush after thinking it’s one of them too.
One user even made a song for the brush and the translated lyrics go like:
"I watched the brush
Because you're not there
I kept on watching the brush
Because you're not there
I kept on watching the brush"
Others started making references to Sonic the Hedgehog, with his catchphrase now being “I’m Sonic! Sonic the Brush!”.
Some also said there will always be that one person observing the brush thinking it’s an amazing hedgehog without knowing it’s been replaced.
And before you think about how people wasted their money going to the zoo to see a brush, the user that tweeted the photo said that the zoo's admission was free!
It’s nice to see the Japanese zoo caring about their spiky little friends and keeping them warm!
