With It set to open in cinemas tomorrow, some viewers may be wondering how it compares to the 2-part miniseries made in the ‘90s, featuring Tim Curry as Pennywise, the Dancing Clown.

Tim’s performance as Pennywise was creepy without a doubt – the iconic storm drain scene, among others, set the standard for creepy clowns in other productions after It. But, there were many parts in the show where Pennywise was not so much scary as much as… funny.

Bill Skarsgård, on the other hand, is set to take the character straight down the scary path. There are quite a few clips from the movie out there now, and they’re ALL terrifying.

The scariest part? Bill sounds so normal. Like any other guy talking to a kid. Which makes it even creepier that he’s doing it in clown makeup from inside a storm drain.

It premieres in cinemas Friday, 8th September 2017.
