Travellers, here’s something important to take note of!

If you’re arriving at KLIA or KLIA2, you’ll notice that you’re hired e-hailing ride isn’t at the normal arrival level.

That’s because there’s a new designated place to catch your rides, and you’ll want to write this down if you don’t want to miss your car!

Beginning 12th October 2019, if you’ve booked a car to pick you up from the airport, you’ll now need to head to a lower level of the terminals to meet your driver.

Here’s where you go for each airport:

KLIA (Main Terminal Building): Level 1 (Door 3 and 4)

KLIA2 (Transportation Hub): Level 1 (Door 5)

Malaysia Airports notes that this new initiative, with the assistance from other government agencies, aims to improve the traffic flow at the airports and also ensures that there is a more systematic flow at the airports.

These new pick-up points at both airports have even been upgraded with comfortable waiting amenities for passengers.

As for the e-hailing drivers, a designated spot has been assigned at the Landside Operations office - which is just five minutes away from the terminal; where the drivers can wait for their passengers who book a ride.

Another important thing for passengers to take note of is that the drivers are only allowed  a five-minute period to pick up their passengers and a penalty of RM10 will be imposed if they’re found to be in the new pick-up for more than the allocated fine.

An additional fine of RM10 will be imposed if the driver waits an extra five minutes, so please be sure to make your booking only when you’ve arrived at the designated pick-up spot,

For the drivers, access to the pick up lanes would require a Touch ‘n Go card with a minimum value of RM20 in it, or drivers may even use their “pay-wave” cards with their Visa, MasterCard and Debit cards.

So, if you’re travelling home, be sure to take note of these new pick-up points at the airports!

We’d advise you to only book your e-hailing ride once you’re ready at the curbside with your luggage so you don’t have to do that sprint to get to the allocated spot or accidentally miss your ride and have it be cancelled.

Share this with your friends and family who may not know about these new pick up points!
