“Hey, Baby!” Creepy Smile Meme Guy Passes Away At 51

There are a few videos on the internet that got popular before it became a meme in recent years and one of the most popular is definitely the “creepy smile” guy.

Gerry Alanguilan, the man that created the viral “Hey, Baby!” video has died at the age of 51.

"To everyone who has loved Gerry, thank you very much. You brought him so much joy," said his wife Ilyn Alanguilan.

While he might be known as the guy with the creepy smile, he’s actually a comic creator and is a known comic book inker.

Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski also tweeted after learning about Gerry Alanguilan’s passing.

Saddened to learn of the passing of Gerry Alanguilan. Another wonderful person taken from us too soon. An amazingly talented writer and inker, mentor to younger artists, and advocate for global comics, the comics world and Filipino art community lost a friend and hero today.

Gerry have inked comic books like X-Men, Superman: Birthright, Wolverine, and Fantastic Four and more.

He’s also the creator of the comic books Johnny Balbona, Humanis Rex!, ELMER, Timawa and Where Bold Stars go to Die.

The world not only lost an internet sensation, but an inspiring comic book creator and inker.

Thank you for the laughs, rest in peace Gerry Alanguilan.
