Many have been taking advantage of the new travelling rule ever since the public has been allowed to travel inter-district and inter-state.
Some have been checking up on family members, some have been attending to urgent matters and others have been… taking a break, which is fair.
But have we all forgotten that there’s still a pandemic going on?
Over the weekend, pictures emerged showing massive congestion on the roads leading to Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands.
Several users took to the We Are Malaysians Facebook page to share pictures of the traffic on these roads.
With the long weekend that just passed, it’s no surprise that many have been taking the advantage to travel, but we must all remember that in the past few days, Malaysia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases have been in the four-digit range.
Another post on the Facebook page showed crowds of people in Cameron Highlands, and we’re really, really hoping that everyone followed SOPs.
News of traffic congestion also came from roads leading to Melaka.
While we are allowed to travel inter-state now, it’s important to also be safe and follow SOPs wherever you go. Wherever you go, please be responsible for your safety and the safety of those around you.
