If you ever needed to know what true courage looks like, you’ve come to the right place.
23-year- old Rupali Meshram ran out of her house in the western Maharashtra state of India when she
heard her goat scream. It turns out that a wild tiger from the nearby forest had its eyes on the poor goat
for a snack. She picked up a stick and hit the tiger, which then attacked her instead. Her mother, who
also sustained injuries from the scuffle, saved her by pulling her inside the house.
Thankfully, the injuries were only minor, and the mother-daughter pair have now been discharged from
the hospital. Below is the discharge note from the hospital citing ‘wild animal attack’ as the diagnosis:

Ms Meshram took a selfie of her face after the attack as evidence of her battle wounds. A doctor who
treated her praised her exemplary courage in fighting off the wild animal, but said she was very
fortunate that she didn’t get bitten.

However, the goat didn’t survive the attack. ☹
This incident took place last week, but Ms Meshram and her mother are healing well!
Lesson learnt – never come in between a girl and her prized possession!
