One Piece fans, gather round because we’ve got some news for you! (Whether it’s good or bad, we’ll let you decide.)
Your favourite Japanese manga/anime is about to get its very own live-action series!
Recently it was reported that one of the world’s longest running and most well known manga series was coming to an end.
According to creator, Eiichiro Oda, the manga that’s been running for 22-years was set to come to an end in five years.
Now, the manga/anime is set to live on but this time, as a live-action series!
A 10-episode live-action series that’s based on the classic manga and anime has been ordered but a release date has yet to be set.
If you’re worried about how a live-action version of the beloved series would turn out, worry not because Eiichiro will be overseeing the production of the series himself as an executive producer.
“I know I announced the production of this back in 2019, but these things take time!” Eiichiro said. “Preparations have been slowly progressing behind the scenes, and it seems that I can finally make the big announcement.”
For those who are not as familiar with the manga, One Piece revolves around Monkey D. Luffy - a pirate whose body has the properties of rubber; who is on a quest to find the legendary treasure “One Piece” and become the Pirate King.
