Jennie is proving once again why she’s a force to be reckoned with. The global pop icon’s debut solo album, Ruby, has officially surpassed 1 million sales in just its first week, Columbia Records confirmed on Monday.

Released on March 7 through her independent label Oddatelier in partnership with Columbia Records, Ruby has been making waves worldwide. The 15-track album stormed into the Billboard 200 at No. 7 and landed in the top 10 across 19 countries, securing the No. 2 spot in both Australia and Korea and reaching No. 3 in the UK. Even before its release, anticipation was sky-high, with 450,000 pre-orders locked in.
For Jennie, Ruby is her most ambitious project yet, featuring an all-star lineup of collaborators, including Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, and Kali Uchis. The 29-year-old first made history as the first Blackpink member to release a solo track with 2018’s “Solo,” and now she’s raising the bar yet again.

The album rollout has been nothing short of electrifying. Lead single “Like JENNIE”, a bold fusion of club beats and hip-hop swagger, set the stage for the album’s success. Before Ruby officially dropped, Jennie teased fans with three singles, each highlighting a different facet of her artistry:
-
“Mantra” (October 2024) – a playful pop anthem in the vein of her 2023 hit You and Me.
-
“Love Hangover” ft. Dominic Fike (January 2025) – an intoxicating blend of smooth vocals and indie R&B vibes.
-
“ExtraL” ft. Doechii (February 2025) – a high-energy, Grammy-worthy collaboration.

To celebrate the album’s release, Jennie took Ruby to the stage in an exclusive concert series, The Ruby Experience, with intimate performances at L.A.’s Peacock Theater, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, and Incheon’s Inspire Arena—where she had nearly the entire K-pop industry in the crowd.
And she’s just getting started. Jennie is set to take over Coachella 2025, marking her return to the festival where Blackpink made history as the first K-pop act to headline in 2023. Beyond that, she and her fellow Blackpink members Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé are gearing up for a 10-city world tour this summer.
With Ruby already a global success, one thing is clear: Jennie isn’t just stepping into her solo era—she’s owning it.
