Jujutsu Kaisen has been gaining many new fans after the release of the anime but unfortunately it will be going on hiatus soon.
Fans were shocked to hear the news of the hiatus and the reason behind the hiatus was revealed to be due to the creator, Gege Akutami suffering poor health condition.
The official Shonen Jump account released a statement along with a handwritten note from Gege himself with the caption saying, “We wish Gege Akutami a restful time off and look forward to the next chapter.”
The series is expected to resume in a month but could last longer based on the creator’s health condition.
“I have been asked by the editorial department to take a break from the series, but I don’t want to slow down the weekly serialisation of Jujutsu Kaisen since I’d like to draw the end of the series as soon as possible, and just put a hold on my answer,” he said.
“The suspension period should be about one month. Even if I say I’m sick, it’s not any serious illness. My mental health is completely fine, so do not worry about it. I’m really sorry I’ll have to keep you waiting. Once I come back, I’ll do my best with the serialisation."
Fans are worried for the magaka’s health and are showing their support by asking Gege to put his health first and take all the time he needs to recover and saying he deserves the time off.
Some fans are worried about magakas’ working condition and stress, with some expressing their concerns especially after Berserk’s creator Kentaro Miura passed away due to health complications back in May.
We hope the creator will have a swift and full recovery!
