Katy Perry may not have attended the 2025 Met Gala, but that didn’t stop AI from putting her there—again.

For the second year in a row, AI-generated images of the pop star dressed in elaborate, Met Gala-worthy outfits flooded social media, convincing thousands that she had walked the red carpet. The "Roar" singer responded with humor, sharing the fake photos on Instagram alongside her real whereabouts.
“Couldn’t make it to the MET,” she wrote in her May 6 post. “I’m on The Lifetimes Tour (see you in Houston tomorrow IRL).”
Perry even referenced the now-infamous 2024 incident where her mother believed a similar AI image was real. “P.S. this year I was actually with my mom so she’s safe from the bots,” she added, “but I’m praying for the rest of y’all.”

The images—this year featuring Perry in a dramatic black latex dress and a pinstripe blazer—were so convincing, fans couldn’t help but comment. One tweet she shared read, “Whoever does Katy Perry’s AI Met Gala fits eats every time.” Another joked, “If I had a nickel every time an AI Katy Perry Met Gala look went viral, I’d have two... which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice.”
Perry, who shares daughter Daisy with Orlando Bloom, has never been shy about poking fun at herself—and once again proved she’s in on the joke.
