NBA fans and the world are mourning the news of NBA star Kobe Bryant’s passing today.
Kobe Bryant was killed at the age of 41 after his private helicopter crashed into the hillside in Calabasas, California on January 26.
His 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant was also killed, along with seven other people on board the aircraft.
Police said nine people were on board the aircraft according to the flight manifest and there were no survivors. The crash remains under investigation.
A team director told CNN that Kobe Bryant was expected in Thousand Oaks at his Mamba sports Academy where his daughter Gigi was expected to play and he serves as a coach.

"We are stunned and devastated by the news of the sudden passing of Kobe Bryant," the National Basketball Players Association wrote in a statement.
"Words cannot express his impact on our players, the NBA and the game of basketball. This is a monumental loss for the entire basketball community and our hearts are quite simply broken. We send love and prayers out to his wife Vanessa and the entire family."
Heartbroken celebrities and athletes react to Bryant’s death and expressed their condolences on social media.
Kobe Bryant entered the NBA straight out of high school and was the youngest player in NBA history at that time. He also won two Olympic gold medals for men’s basketball and five NBA championships.
Fans created a makeshift memorial for Bryant at the Los Angeles Staples Center to mourn the death of the Lakers player that played on the team for 20 years.
