Every Malaysian knows our national badminton hero Datuk Lee Chong Wei and he’s now set to be the first Malaysian to have his very own wax figure at the famous Madame Tussauds Hong Kong wax museum!
He posted on Facebook announcing the news saying, “I would never have imagined a wax figure of my own!”
Datuk Lee Chong Wei will be the first Malaysian sportsman to have a Madame Tussauds wax figure and he said that he hopes that his “wax figure will inspire more Malaysians to showcase their talent on the global stage.”
The wax figure will be unveiled in the second quarter of this year and he also thanked the team at the wax museum “who were extremely patient and detailed during the detailing session.”
The national badminton player retired in June 2019 after his monumental contribution to the country over the span of 19 years.
Lee Chong Wei is also the second Malaysian to have a Madame Tussauds wax figure, with the first being Michelle Yeoh years ago.
We certainly can’t wait to see how the wax figure will look like! Will you go see the wax figure? Let us know!
