Six months after Liam Payne’s death, his older sister Ruth Gibbins shared an emotional post on Instagram reflecting on her grief. "Living without you is impossible," she wrote, describing how each day feels like gasping for air. Ruth admitted that even though she’s learning to smile, all she really wants is to talk to Liam again.
She fondly remembered a moment of laughter with Liam, trying to recreate a YouTube video together. "In the few moments I allow myself to feel love, I smile at those memories," Ruth shared, though she added that they’re always bittersweet knowing they can't make new ones.
Ruth also mentioned that she often looks for signs of Liam, feeling his presence in small ways. "I miss you in every moment, loud and quiet," she said, highlighting how her love for him remains strong despite his absence.
Ruth ended her post with a heartfelt message: "Love you more than words or tears can express. For now, I’ll meet you in my dreams." Her words reflected the deep emotional pain she still feels daily.
Liam's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, also shared her struggles with grief, admitting that she still talks about Liam in the present tense. "It still stings to refer to him in the past tense," she said, emphasizing how difficult it is to fully accept his death.
Kate, however, finds comfort in her support system, including their dog Nala. "Having Nala around has helped me so much with my healing journey," she explained, showing that even through their pain, both Ruth and Kate continue to find strength in the memories and love they shared with Liam.
