Malaysians have been staying home for weeks ever since the start of the Movement Control Order and one of the limitations was that vehicles were not allowed to be on the streets past 10pm.
But with the new Conditional Movement Control order, the 10pm curfew has officially been lifted!
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said in the press conference that the 10pm to 6am restriction for inter-district travels will not be enforced.
“In terms of movement, district to district movement is already allowed, so there is no limit in terms of the time to travel,” he said.
However the minister reminded that interstate travels are still not allowed during the period of CMCO.
The minister also mentioned that the police will be studying how the people that have already returned to their hometowns using public transport will return to the cities and interstate travels via public transport.
“The police are studying the matter in detail on how many public transport vehicles are needed.”
"Inter-state travel is still not allowed so vehicles such as express buses are not operating," he said during a daily press briefing on Tuesday (May 5).”
So there you have it, you can now drive on the road if you have important matters to attend to past 10pm! But don’t misuse the new rules too!
