Pandelela Rinong has scored Malaysia’s first medal for individual diving on Wednesday, 6 June at the 2018 FINA Diving World Cup.
Our favourite national diver bagged the bronze at the women’s 10m individual platform event.
According to The Star, initially, this two-time Olympic medallist had managed to only qualify for the semi-finals during the preliminary round on Tuesday, 5 June.
But she then turned things around and came back strong with 349.15 points after five dives in the final round.

Chinese diver duo Zhang Jiaqi and Ren Qian, reigning Olympic champions, took gold and silver with Zhang finishing 427.30 points and Ren 403.85 points.
Next, Pandelela will partner with Jun Hoong in the women’s 10m platform synchro event. Both are the reigning silver medallists at the 2016 Rio Olympics and gold medallists at the recent Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
