We all know someone that likes to record and post cinema footages from the cinema and though you might think these actions won’t affect you, this girl found out the hard way that it does.
A Malaysian girl recently shared how she recorded footages from the cinema while watching Toy Story 4 and got her Instagram account blocked by none other than The Walt Disney Company.
She explained that she posted “a few seconds” of Toy Story 4 to her Instagram story and caused her to infringe copyright from Disney and received two emails after getting blocked.
In the now deleted post, she warned others not to make the same mistake and many users praised Instagram for their swift action and criticized her for not following the cinema’s strict no filming rules.
While this girl only got her Instagram account blocked for three days, recording in a cinema can cost you up to RM100,000 fine or be jailed for up to five years!
Even attempting to record will get you up to RM50,000 fine or jailed for a year!
So if you have any friends that loves posting instastories of the movie they're watching in the cinema, it’s time for them to stop (also why post spoilers for your friends, seriously?).
