Many Malaysian students have accomplished great feats worldwide and two students have just became number one in the world once more!

Two Malaysian students have ranked first worldwide in three subjects after getting their Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) results, among around 150,000 candidates!

Lim Yan Zhe ranked world #1 in Financial Reporting (F1) and Financial Management (FM) while Ee Li Chai was ranked #1 in Strategic Business Leader (SBL) in their September 2020 ACCA examinations!

As for the students that ranked top 3 in Malaysia for the September examinations, Xue Wern Tan ranked world #12 with Sarah Aina Binti Mohd Zaharan and Caroline Yi Wye Ng both ranking world #13 and Wong Hui Si ranking #20 worldwide.

"These are extraordinary achievements, especially in these uncertain times caused by the pandemic. The students' hard work and dedication will lead them to world-class professional qualifications, recognised globally,” said Malaysia’s head of ACCA, Edward Lim.

“We are proud of the achievements of each student and believe that they will have bright futures.”

Lim Yan Zhe from Johor said he was shocked when he received the news and said that he’s grateful for his family and friends’ support and the lecturers who guided him during this pandemic.

“Online learning was a challenge to me in the beginning but I think the approach is equally as efficient and gives me a lot of flexibility after adapting to it,” he said.

Ee Li Chai who’s currently working as an audit executive in Singapore, also said that it was a great honour to receive the recognition and that working from home gave her more time to prepare and study for her exams because it saved on commute time.

“The result gave me more motivation to complete my ACCA professional qualification and enjoy more opportunities and better prospects in the future. I also hope to have the opportunity to become a knowledgeable consultant and provide customers with better solutions in the future.”
