Malaysian tower runner Soh Wai Ching recently won the 2021 Empire State Building Run-Up after scaling 86 floors in 10 minutes and 47 seconds… and he also met the Winter Soldier!
The 27-year-old Malaysian and “Marvel fanboy” became the first Asian to win the race and shared that he was happy to have met Sebastian Stan and hopes to see more Marvel superhero actors!
The winners of the Empire State Building Run-Up will get to donate $100,000 (RM415,100) to a charity of their choice.
He is however dissatisfied with his performance because he was aiming to finish in less than 10 minutes, but continued to aim to beat the 9 minutes and 33 seconds record set by Paul Crake in 2003.
Soh Wai Ching is currently Asia’s number one tower running athlete and is ranked no. 2 in the world. He previously broke the Guinness World Record for the greatest vertical-height stair climbing in one hour in Kuala Lumpur!
Many people online are amazed by his accomplishments and jokingly said that they are already panting after climbing up the stairs in their own house.
Congratulations Soh Wai Ching and thank you for making the nation proud!
