Spies often leave their identities behind to start a new life with a new name… but one man decided to leave his own name behind to embrace the name of a spy.
A New Delhi man loves the iconic spy so much that he decided to legally change his name to James Bond… but his wife is not having it.
The man, originally named Vikas Kardam is a die-hard James Bond fan and has been contemplating changing his name to the name of the super-spy for awhile now. He eventually went ahead with the name change despite being advised not to by his friends and colleagues.
The 33-year-old man said that his personality resonates with the movie character’s but unfortunately his wife thought otherwise and stopped talking to him after his name change because she feared that it would lead to him being trolled and ridiculed.
”Her first reaction was of shock. She looked at me with anger, didn’t utter a word and then left the room. It’s been two days since she’s spoken to me,” he said.
The family lives in a two-room rented apartment in West Delhi and is waiting to change the details on his Adhaar ID system, PAN (permanent account number) card and other important documents.
His family has yet to find out about the name-change decision but seeing as how fast things spread on social media, there’s no doubt that they will find out about the news in no time!
