Recently, a 40-year-old man drove his car into a police roadblock that was set up during MCO 2.0 and it was all because he was distracted by his phone.
According to Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar, the man who was using his phone while driving had damaged the police roadblock signage at the Old Klang Road roadblock but thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.
“We have since detained the man and seized his car,” the assistant commissioner said.
“Investigations revealed that the man admitted to using his mobile phone while driving and was distracted.”

The 40-year-old shared that he had gone out to buy food at Taman Gembira in Old Klang Road at the time of the incident.
ACP Anuar has advised the public to be cautious when driving as accidents can not only endager the individual’s life but also the lives of others on the road.
“We also hope the public complied with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MCO areas,” he added.
