Card game collections can be worth a lot and this man just lost his precious Yu-Gi-Oh! card collection after his fiancé’s brother destroyed them!
A man in China recently revealed that he got into a massive fight with his fiancé after her brother threw his Yu-Gi-Oh! cards worth almost RM1 million, into the fish tank.
His fiancé had brought her 7-year-old brother to his house earlier this year and the little boy kept throwing a tantrum about going back home.
The man is a comic book lover and has a room full of action figures, so he decided to let the little boy play in the room to stop him from throwing tantrums and the man went to help his parents with preparations for dinner.
Unfortunately, his Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that he had placed on the table went missing after he came back to the room, and he discovered that they ended up in the fish tank in the house!
The card collection - that he had been collecting for years since high school by saving up his hard-earned money; was kept in a chocolate box and the 49 cards were worth around RM920,000 (147,0000 yuan) with each card worth around RM20,000 (30,000 yuan).
The little boy said he couldn’t open the box so he threw it into the aquarium and the guy couldn’t help but to get angry and yelled at the boy because the cards were all destroyed and the boy started crying.
His fiancé heard them and after finding out what happened, suggested that the cards can act as a part of her dowry and said “is marriage more important or the cards?”
The couple started fighting and the man’s parents also thought that he shouldn’t make a big deal over some cards, agreeing that it’s a good decision to use the cards as a part of the dowry.
The man got angrier after they fought and slammed the door. The fiancé also took her brother and went home but luckily they both made amends in the end.
Many people online have mixed reactions over the incident, with many thinking that the value of items shouldn’t be judged and sided with him, while some think that it’s not right to ruin a marriage over some cards.
