Proposals can sometimes be a grand event.
From a scavenger hunt to a helipad proposal, some people like their proposals big and grand, and some like it small and simple.
For one couple however, all they needed for the perfect proposal was a fried chicken bouquet.

For Valentine’s Day this year, Darren Chua had plans to make it an extra special one by popping the question to his girlfriend Koh Han Yan.
The Singaporean man decided to work together with a popular fast-food chain to create a unique bouquet to gift his fried chicken-loving wife-to-be. And the result was more than Han Yan could’ve asked for.

Darren and Han Yan met in secondary school and have dated for about 10 years. The couple have many common interests but one of their biggest passions is their love for the fast-food chain.
The bride-to-be loves the fast-food’s franchise so much that she has religiously tried every one of their unique innovations.
It’s of course no surprise that Darren came up with the idea to propose with a fried chicken bouquet!
He initially wanted to DIY the bouquet or purchase from a florist, but he decided instead to ask the fast-food restaurant for help.

Darren and the fast food restaurant – who were excited about the idea; began work on their “chicky” plan in December 2020.
The groom-to-be’s proposal started off by giving Han Yan a decoy bouquet of regular flowers with some cards and a video that he put together.
After serenading her, Darren got down on one knee with a ring and the golden-brown fried chicken bouquet.
In his proposal speech, Darren even mentioned Han Yan’s “dream” of wanting to marry the grandson of the fast-food franchise and shared that while he may not have the beloved chain’s bloodline, he would still do his best to fulfill all her needs and wants.
This is definitely the best proposal for a fried chicken lover!
We’re definitely open to receiving fried chicken bouquets too!
