With Miku Expo 2017 just around the corner, Vocaloid fans, old and new, are preparing themselves to sing along with the virtual singer by listening to her songs.

Whether you’ve been a fan for the past ten years, or whether you’re completely new to the world of Vocaloid, if you’re going to Miku Expo, here are 5 songs you definitely need to hear!

#1 “World is Mine” by ryo (Supercell) ft Hatsune Miku

“World is Mine” is one of ryo (Supercell)’s many hits. The original video of the song has 7 million views on Japanese video sharing site Nico Nico Douga.

#2 “Miku” by Anamanaguchi ft Hatsune Miku

Brooklyn-based band Anamanaguchi created this song after opening for Miku Expo 2016 in North America. A Japanese version of the song is available on the band’s official channel.

#3 “Tell Your World” by kz (livetune) ft Hatsune Miku

This song was initially created by kz (livetune) for a Japanese commercial for Google Chrome back in 2011. It became the #1 single on iTunes in 2012, and the official video on YouTube has over 16 million views.

#4 “Remote Controller” by WONDERFULOPPORTUNITY ft Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len

Remote Controller was composed by one of the members of the doujin (fan) group Wonderful☆Opportunity. The Kagamine twins are often seen together with Miku in her performances.

#5 “Just Be Friends” by Dixie Flatline ft Megurine Luka

One of Dixie Flatline’s greatest hits, this upbeat yet sad song became one of Megurine Luka’s most popular songs internationally, inspiring comics and light novels. This song is often played at Hatsune Miku concerts.

There’s never a wrong time to listen to Vocaloid music, but nothing beats being part of the crowd at a concert, watching live performances of the songs by your favourite virtual artistes. And right now, there’s no better way to experience that than to attend Miku Expo 2017, which will be held on 16 December. Tickets are still available, so do hurry and get them before they sell out!
