The economy is just not giving right now, so making some extra bread on the side would certainly slap. With the flexibility to work on your own terms and potential to earn a significant amount of money, why say no, yes?

A good place to start is the national MyPSV program.

What is the MyPSV program all about?

Launched in early July, MyPSV is a program initiated by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, via Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), as part of the Belanjawan 2023.

It’s a commitment to help the B40 community of Malaysia by offering them job opportunities in the form of 4,000 Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licenses.

Besides that, it’s also a move that can improve the transportation and tourism sector of the country. 2 birds, 1 stone!

What are the benefits of MyPSV?

If you’ve been toying with the idea of being a PSV driver, make use of MyPSV and get your training and license for free!

A total of 3,500 licenses will be available for e-hailing and taxi drivers, while 500 will be reserved for bus drivers.

The government has also set aside RM2 million that will be used for each candidate’s exam fees and training—RM2,590 for bus, and RM190 for e-hailing and taxi.

Can anybody apply for MyPSV?

You’ll need to meet these criteria in order to apply:

  1. Malaysian citizen
  2. Aged 21 and above
  3. Pass your health examination (JPJL8A)
  4. Not be blacklisted (JPJ/PDRM/Court)
  5. Hold a class D driving license (if you’re applying for MyPSV e-hailing/taxi)
  6. Hold a class D driving license for a minimum of 1 year or a class E driving license (if you’re applying for MyPSB bus)

On top of that, candidates applying for MyPSV bus will also be required to undertake a theoretical course, vocational training, and practical exams (track and road). Whereas MyPSV e-hailing/taxi applicants will only need to take the theoretical course.

How can I submit my application for MyPSV?

To apply, all you have to do is visit MOF’s website, click ‘Mohon Di Sini’ and fill in the form.

Have a copy of your IC, driver’s license, and health exam together with the hospital/clinic receipts for proof.

Should you qualify, you’ll be contacted via post mail or email within 4 weeks.

Be quick though because the 4,000 licenses are given on a first-come-first-served basis.
