Valentine’s Day is almost among us and if you’ve still got a grudge against your ex, we’ve found the perfect gift to gift yourself.
A zoo is now allowing you to not only name a cockroach after your ex but you also get to watch it get eaten.

The San Antonio Zoo in Texas is celebrating Valentine’s in an unconventional way.
We’ve heard of being able to name a cockroach after your ex, but this is the first time we’re hearing about being able to watch it get devoured by a bird, reptile or mammal.
After gaining international attention and raising more than $45,000 (RM182,213) in donations last year, the zoo’s annual “Cry Me A Cockroach” event is back once again.

The “perfect remedy for your broken heart”, the fundraising event allows you to symbolically name a cockroach after your ex and have it served up as an “enrichment treat” to one of the zoo’s animals for $5 (RM20).
If you feel like your ex was a snake and deserves to hurt a little more, the zoo is also offering the option to name a pre-frozen rat after them which will then be fed to a reptile for $25 (RM101).
If a cockroach and a rat feels like a bit much for you, the zoo has introduced a new herbivore option where for $5 (RM20) you can name vegetables after your ex (or roommate, etc) including romaine lettuce, cabbages and other leafy greens, which will then be fed to the zoo’s vegetarian animals.
Once you’ve purchased your cockroach, rat or vegetable, the zoo will then live-stream the “Cry Me A Cockroach!” feeding frenzy on their social media pages.
“Birds, reptiles, and mammals from San Antonio Zoo will join in on this feast,” that will take place throughout the day on 14th February.
The money raised from the event is expected to go towards expanding the zoo’s jaguar habitat with a connected overhead catwalk.
What’s more? You’ll even receive a certificate of confirmation that you’ll be able to show off on your social media or keep to forever remember your ex, the cockroach.
So if you’ve got a slimy ex and just need some form of payback, hopefully this will help you to let go and move on happily with your life!
