Many Naruto fans have mixed reviews when it comes to the sequel series Boruto, but die-hard Naruto fans are celebrating because the original creator is taking over!
Naruto’s original creator Mashashi Kishimoto is officially taking over the sequel manga, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations!
The sequel series was initially written by Ukyo Kodachi and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto under Mashashi's supervision, but the original creator will now be handling the writing, storyboarding and drafting duties for Boruto.
Boruto has released 51 chapters since it was first published back in 2016, and Mashashi is set to take over starting from the 52nd chapter that's set to release on 21st November 2021.
The decision will see the departure of the previous writer Ukyo Kodachi from the manga series, but will continue to be illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto.
"With regards to the manga, Boruto, with the publication of Boruto Chapter 52 in V-Jump December issue (on sale November 21st), the structure of production will be changed, and work will start from the beginning with accordance to schedule,” the official Twitter account wrote.
“To [Ukyo Kodachi], who is the scriptwriter till now, thank you very much for your hard work. The serialisation from hence forth will be with accordance to the original drafts of Masashi Kishimoto-sensei."
Many fans are excited to see the original creator taking over the sequel manga but some are worried that the change of writer in the middle of a story might be a bad move.
Some fans also wrote that they only wish for improvements to be made for the character Sarada in the series and others thanked Kodachi everything he has written for Boruto.
