Extreme cold weather is not easy to bear for anyone, but our national explorer Mughammad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, also known Qobin, just walked 111km to reach the 90 point degree South Pole!

Qobin went on the expedition from 19 to 27 December last year. He braved through extreme cold, even getting a first-degree frostbite, before completing the expedition.

He’s also the first Malaysian to get the Grand Slam Explorer title, an adventurers’ challenge to reach the North and South Pole, and climb the seven summits.

Qobin took 13 years to obtain the title, and became the youngest in the world to be an international Grand Slam Explorer.
