Many businesses were affected by the pandemic and one woman teared up after the internet banded together to help with her sales.

An elderly Malaysian woman named Rosidah Ahmad aka “Mak” sells secondhand clothes and was trying to keep up with technology by selling via livestream, but she didn’t have many viewers.

She was trying her best to make her sales and even streamed till 3am, but she only had 3-4 viewers. The internet decided to team up and help her out.

Her views started increasing up to 170 viewers and many started buying her clothes bundles until it was sold out, making her tear up during the livestream.

Some even paid the money for more than 130 clothes and ask her to keep the money and resell the clothes, which she then decided that she would give out the clothes to those in need and broke into tears.

At one point she was tearing up and said that she don’t want to sell the clothes because she enjoys reading the comments and even announced the name of each and everyone of the viewers.

She also said that she felt bad for the viewers and are worried that some couldn’t get the clothes and are not satisfied but many asked her to take the sales so she can rest early.

Her husband was also touched by the netizens’ help. And while he was shy to join the livestream, he said that he would cover the livestream even though he has to wake up early for work the next day.

But some however said that “Mak” was clickbaiting by using a caption “HELP!!” for her video as a marketing strategy to gain sympathy, and netizens jumped to her defence by saying she’s only selling each clothes for RM1 and not even making profit.

A few netizens also looked through her profile and found out that Mak came from Penang and she also sells nasi lemak for a living. She even donates her earning to the masjid.

Many of the viewers also said that they want to raise money together up to RM1,000 for her.
