Noah Centineo, widely recognized for his role as Peter Kavinsky in the To All the Boys I've Loved Before franchise, has expressed his desire to revisit the genre that skyrocketed him to fame. "At some point, I would like to go back to romance," Centineo shared in an interview with PEOPLE. "I don't know if it would be YA, but I do want to go back to romance."

Centineo first won hearts as Peter Kavinsky, the charismatic jock-turned-love interest of Lara Jean Covey (played by Lana Condor) in the film trilogy adapted from Jenny Han’s beloved young adult novels. Most recently, he reprised his iconic role in season 2 of XO, Kitty, a spin-off series centered on Lara Jean’s younger sister, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), and her adventures at a boarding school in Seoul, South Korea.
In XO, Kitty, Peter, now a Stanford lacrosse player, makes a cameo during a tournament in Seoul. Centineo revealed the cameo came together due to serendipitous timing. "I was already in Seoul filming season 2 of The Recruit," he explained. When producer Matt Kaplan reached out, Centineo was all in. "I said, 'Absolutely.'"
Reflecting on his time with Cathcart, Centineo shared his admiration: "I love Anna so much. I just support everything she's doing. She’s such a hardworking actress and such a professional. I joke and say she was literally the most prepared person on all the films for To All the Boys. She deserves it all."
Returning to the role of Peter Kavinsky, even briefly, was an emotional experience for Centineo. In a behind-the-scenes feature for Netflix's Tudum, he admitted, "It was scary, to be completely honest. You reopen something that I did five years ago. It was very, very special, and you want to do it justice. You don’t want to let anyone down." He described the experience as "surreal."

Since bidding farewell to the iconic rom-com role, Centineo has pivoted toward action and drama. He starred in the superhero blockbuster Black Adam alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and took on the lead in Netflix’s spy thriller series The Recruit, which returns for its second season on January 30.
Centineo’s next project is Warfare, a war drama from acclaimed director Alex Garland and A24. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, and Cosmo Jarvis.
While Centineo has explored new genres, his latest comments suggest that romance isn’t out of the picture. For fans of Peter Kavinsky, this could mean the actor isn’t quite done stealing hearts just yet.
