With humans being responsible and staying indoors to stop the spread of COVID-19, more and more animals are being let out of their homes to explore new environments.
This time, a group of penguins are waddling their way around a playground in Singapore.

First, we saw penguins exploring an aquarium in Chicago, then we saw puppies and kittens making new friends in the Georgia Aquarium, now we have the penguins from the Singapore Zoo exploring the outdoors!
As Singaporeans are currently under their own version of the Movement Control Order called the Circuit Breaker, the Singapore Zoo has closed its doors to the public.
While the Zoo’s doors may be closed to the public, they’re definitely open to its own residents, a cute waddle of African penguins.

The closure of the zoo has given these adorable penguins the opportunity to explore beyond their exhibit and discover new spaces, sights and sounds that keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
Speaking to Mothership, the Wildlife Reserves Singapore noted that the penguins have been venturing out of their enclosure two to tree times a week during the Circuit Breaker.
The zoo keepers keep a close eye on the penguins while they waddle around and the also conduct headcount to ensure that all penguins are accounted for.

If you notice, the penguins like to move together as group, so it doesn’t take much encouragement to guide the penguins through their walk.
The African penguins, who are currently classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, even made new friends with the sea lion statues and explored the children’s playground in the vicinity.
We’re definitely super excited to see all these different animals exploring and making new friends all around, even if it’s at the expanse of us humans staying home.
Be sure to keep playing your part by staying home to stop the spread of the virus!
