The Euro 2020 final ended with Italy taking the trophy and England’s heartbreaking loss, but what’s worst now is, people want England to be banned from the World Cup.

The Three Lions losing to Italy was not the only negative for England. After fans’ “despicable behaviour” before and after the final match, people are calling for England to be banned from next year’s World Cup.

Ticketless fans were seen clashing with the police and security, and jumping over gates to Wembley Stadium before the match and some were seen fighting and attacking Italian supporters who were trying to leave after the match.

England’s football players Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho - who missed the spot kicks in the shootout, also had their social media accounts flooded with abuse.

A total of 49 arrests were made by the Met Police during and after the game, with 19 officers injured due to some fans’ violent behaviour.

Many took to the internet to call for England to be banned from 2022’s World Cup in Qatar, with one saying, “I Hope England get banned for the World Cup and the next Euros for the fans behaviour tonight absolutely disgusting”.

"England should be banned from participating in the World Cup next year. Treat the fans like the children they are and take it away from them,” another user said.

One user said, "Embarrassed to be British! If that’s how England fans behave, it does NOT deserve to ‘come home’. But we DO deserve to be banned from the World Cup! Maybe that’ll teach the hooligans a lesson! Or not".

Many celebrities have also spoken out on the bad fans’ behaviour, with David Beckham saying, “anyone who doesn’t support and RESPECT each and every one of you today isn’t an England fan.”

“The people abusing any England players are the only people who have let anyone down,” Tom Holland said while calling out the fans who beat up Italian supporters and the ones who hurled racist abuse. “You are not my countrymen.”

The negative fans’ behaviour didn’t just happen on the day of the final match either. England was fined RM145,000 (£25,000) after a fan shined a laser pointer into Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel’s eye, while other fans were “boo-ing” during Denmark’s national anthem and setting off of fireworks during the semi-final.

One user suggested saying, “I think the players deserve to play, but I think they should ban next World Cup and Euro matches from taking place in England, so all England games will be away.”
