Before Pokémon Go became a worldwide viral sensation and before Nintendo created countless Pokémon games on their consoles, all Pokémon fans had was trading cards.
What’s amazing is that the value of older Pokémon cards are still selling well, and the prices are going up higher and higher each day!
An auction website called Huggins & Scott Auctions previously sold an unopened box of Pokémon cards for RM228,340 ($56,000) and now it’s back again with another box that will be auctioned at the starting price of RM142,712 ($35,000)!
Imagine what you can buy with that much money!
The 1999 unopened box is a Limited Printing Base Set Pokemon booster cards and comes with 36 booster card packs, with 11 cards in each pack. There’s also a 1:3 odds that you might even get a foil card (shiny looking rare and valuable Pokémon card)!
But then again the value of an unopened box decreases as soon as you open them so buyers will probably not do that.
It seems like these cards are getting more and more vauable! Do you happen to have a Pokémon trading card sitting at home? Make sure you keep it safe!
