If there’s one viral song we can’t ever get out of our heads it’s definitely the Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen song and the singer is now back for another new version for COVID-19!
The Japanese singer, Pikotaro returned to the internet once more after his viral song in 2016 and this time he’s asking everyone to wash their hands!
“I have a hand. I have a soap. Wash wash wash wash wash wash wash wash,” the song tackles the current pandemic and urges people to start washing their hands in the new version of the original.
The song tackles a serious issue with humour, but something about him saying “We Will Win” at the end that makes us tear up a little.
Seeing as how many people around the world have suffered from the virus outbreak, it’s certain that this song makes us smile and gives us some hope with his ridiculous singing and dancing!
Some netizens are showing how the video is getting people to wash their hands and the people of Japan love the upgraded version of the once viral song too, given how the cases are rising at an alarming rate too.
“Save the world, Pikotaro!”
“We needed someone to come out with a PSA like this!”
“It’s an important message that people will listen to because he’s so likeable and the song is so easy to remember.”
“This is great for all ages, but particularly kids, who’ll want to copy him and wash their hands properly.”
“This makes me realise how much I’ve missed him!”
Looks like we now have a substitute for singing Happy Birthday twice while washing our hands!
