Dogs are willing to risk their own lives to save others and this pregnant dog is the perfect example after saving four lives from an inferno.
A pregnant dog named Matilda heroically saved four patients from a burning hospice after running into the building to raise the alarm in Russia.
The four terminally ill patients were pulled from the fire to safety after the fire services were called but the brave doggo unfortunately passed out due to the carbon monoxide fumes in the fire.
Two volunteers later saved Matilda from the fire but it suffers from severe burns and “cried and trembled in pain, but heroically endured everything”.
“Matilda's face, neck and abdomen were severely burned,” said the Vasilek shelter in St Petersburg that’s fighting to save the pregnant dog, also known as Motya, from her injuries.
“She was checked by a fertility specialist who looked at her for a very long time and carefully studied the puppies.”
Fortunately, her unborn puppies “are all alive and developing well”, but her severe burns means she will not be able to feed her puppies.
“Now it is impossible to understand the number of babies she is carrying, since she is a big dog.”
Matilda’s owner and also owner to the hospice revealed that she is unable to care for the dog anymore due to her injuries.
Many people praised the brave doggo for her heroic act that saved the patients that could’ve died if not for her.
