Gamers all over the world have been desperately trying to get their hands on the limited PlayStation 5 consoles and thieves have been attempting to steal these consoles through heists from delivery vehicles instead.
Cops in the UK reported that thieves are using a Fast and Furious-style heist by raiding moving trucks to steal PS5 consoles across Britain.
The raid that looks like something out of a Fast and Furious movie or a Grand Theft Auto video game, sees three or more vehicles breaking into moving trucks to steal the goods.
The stunt by criminal gangs have been reported at least 27 times this year, with other expensive items like PlayStations, TVs, mobiles phones, cosmetics and more being stolen from the back of trucks.
Authorities also fear that the heists might be an inside job and the criminals are being tipped off and they are then able to identify which truck is delivering the more expensive items. As more people are shopping online for the festive season, the authorities are concerned that there'll be more heist attempts.
A video of a similar heist that occurred on 25 September, shows thieves breaking into the back of a trailer after climbing out through the sunroof of a car that was tailing the truck and they then stole high value parcels from the lorry travelling overnight.
Haulage bosses are being urged to increase their security and take different delivery routes to attempt to beat the criminals.
And with many gamers previously reporting that they were receiving cat food and other items instead of the PlayStation5 they ordered, in addition to these heist, it looks like some people won’t be getting PS5 for Christmas this year...
What would you have done if you were the truck driver? Let us know!
