What does it take for an animal to not be killed and turned into food in Japan? We don’t know.
But what we do know is, being ‘psychic’ and correctly predicting how your national team will perform in the World Cup three times in a row doesn’t make the cut. Neither does having the name Rabio, apparently.
After being hailed as psychic following an experiment in a paddling pool in which Rabio correctly predicted the outcome of Japan’s match against Colombia (win), Senegal (draw), and Poland (lost), the octopus was caught by a local fisherman who decided his livelihood was more important than viral fame.
