Terengganu has long since been known for its beautiful beaches, which attract turtles during breeding season. Soon, it will have another attraction to its name – these buses, which travel on both land and water.
Known as ‘amphicoaches’, these vehicles arrived in Terengganu last February after a delay of nearly a year. They have since undergone testing and will be available to the public soon.
“We must ensure that the vehicle’s pilots have both licences [to operate land and aquatic vehicles], or there must be two pilots,” said Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman.
“The Land Transport Department and Malaysian Marine Department have been very cooperative on this, so we hope to start operations as soon as possible.”
