Several major roads and highways in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur were temporarily closed earlier this morning to facilitate the movement of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is currently on a state visit to Malaysia.

The road closures began at 9:30 AM and affected areas such as Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, the Putrajaya-Dengkil Expressway, and the Putrajaya Ring Road.
Other impacted routes included the Maju Expressway (MEX), Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas), Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE), Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (SUKE), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), and the SMART Tunnel.
Additionally, the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway, Jalan Istana, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, and Jalan Sultan Iskandar experienced brief closures and diversions.
The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) had earlier advised that full road closures and traffic diversions would be implemented for approximately 30 to 45 minutes to allow for the safe and smooth movement of the Chinese delegation.
Motorists were urged to plan their journeys in advance and follow instructions given by on-duty police officers.
Yesterday, Kosmo! reported that Xi Jinping landed safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 6:30 PM, marking the start of his three-day state visit to Malaysia, which runs from Tuesday through Thursday.
The Chinese President and his delegation arrived on an Air China Boeing 747 and were welcomed at the Bunga Raya Complex of KLIA by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Also present to receive the delegation were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
