If you happen to be a guy that’s looking forward to holding a girl’s hand and taking a romantic walk but you can’t seem to find a girlfriend, there might just be a solution for you!
Researchers at Gifu University in Japan have developed a high tech device to stimulate holding a girl’s hand and aims to recreate a girlfriend experience without an actual girlfriend!
The device named “My Girlfriend in Walk”, is a motorised robotic hand that its inventors described as an “experience holding your girlfriend’s hand [that is done] more easily than finding a girlfriend.”
Completed with a microcomputer, pressure sensor, motor, film heater and soft, skin-like material, and a companion smartphone app; the device can provide the hand with warmth with the help of a film heater and even produced artificial sweat.
Fragrances can also be added to the artificial sweat produced through a damp cloth between the heater and the surface of the hand to recreate the smell of a person.
The hand even emulates the sound of breathing, running and even the rustle of their clothes through the phone's speaker which are accompanied by a machine that also detects the speed the wearer is moving.
The hand also detects the strength of your grip with the pressure sensor and grips back with a comparable force which can also replicate the feeling of being pulled forwards or backwards when you walk or run using the motorised rail fixed to the user’s forearm.
The researchers believe that the device that’s currently still in the experimental stage, can help tackle loneliness and has commercial potential!
