A Malaysian hip-hop group is giving us more reasons to be proud of our local talent and we’re super proud that K-Clique has been nominated for an award at the upcoming 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards!
The annual award show that will be held on 8th November has seen K-Clique being nominated in its Best Southeast Asia Act category.
The group from Sabah that consists of eight members – MK, Noki Tuju, SoMean, KDeaf, FareedPF, Gnello, NastyNas; has been nominated for their song, “Merais”.
Speaking to Harian Metro, SoMean shared that being nominated for an MTV EMA award was definitely a big deal to them, especially as the group is relatively new to the local music scene.
“We never thought that we would have made it this far in being nominated for the MTV EMA,” SoMean said. “It was beyond our wildest dreams.”
“As a group, we have been focusing on producing good music for our listeners and fans,” he added.
K-Clique is up against Indonesia’s Agnez Mo, Philippines’ Ben&Ben, Singapore’s Benjamin Kheng, Thailand’s Violette Wautier and Vietnam’s Jack for the Best Southeast Asian Act.
