Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan joined forces to deliver a holiday classic in a festive duet.
In Carpenter’s new Netflix holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas, which premiered on December 6, the 25-year-old pop star invited her friend and special guest Chappell Roan for a charming performance of Wham!’s iconic 1984 hit, “Last Christmas.”
The performance took place in a setting reminiscent of a post-party holiday gathering, with empty wine bottles and red cups strewn across the floor. Carpenter, dressed in a velvety green gown, and Roan, sporting a cozy winter coat, sang the beloved track karaoke-style, reading the lyrics from a vintage TV.
The holiday special, Carpenter’s first-ever Christmas variety show, was filled with surprise appearances and collaborations. Highlights included Tyla joining her for a lively rendition of “This Christmas,” Shania Twain teaming up for a sultry duet of “Santa Baby,” and Kali Uchis performing “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” alongside Carpenter.
In addition to these star-studded duets, the Espresso singer featured songs from her 2023 seasonal EP, Fruitcake, blending musical numbers with comedic skits throughout the show.
“The holidays have always been so special to me,” Carpenter shared in a statement ahead of the special’s release. “I’m excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show — infusing my love of music and comedy to create something that feels uniquely me.”
