Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are in no rush to say “I do.” The couple, who got engaged in December, are putting wedding planning on the back burner as they focus on their upcoming album, I Said I Love You First, set to drop on March 21.

While the Only Murders in the Building star is full of ideas for their big day, Benny revealed that they’re taking things one step at a time.

"I think every day she’s planned a new wedding in her head," the producer joked in a joint interview with Rolling Stone published on March 17.

For now, their focus is on music.

"I genuinely feel like this is such a special time," Selena, 32, shared. "We get to pour our hearts into this album and bring our love to the world. That’s my main focus right now."

Benny, 37, echoed her sentiment, saying they’re still soaking in the excitement of their engagement.

"We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’ people," he said. "We’re still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring."

The couple’s journey to the altar may be on pause, but their creative collaboration is thriving. They recorded I Said I Love You First entirely at home, making the process deeply personal.

"That’s the most intimate I’ve ever been in a studio,” Selena said. "We did everything from home with people we love."

Benny’s proposal, which made headlines for its Taco Bell picnic setting, happened around the same time they were making the album.

Selena describes the project as a reflection of their love, with each song carrying dual meanings from both of their perspectives.

"This whole project embodies his stories combined with my stories," she explained. "One song could mean two different things. It was really cute."

And as for their album title? Selena playfully admitted, "Yeah, guilty as charged—I said 'I love you' first."
