Love is officially in the air for Shang-Chi star Simu Liu and his longtime girlfriend, Allison Hsu. The Marvel actor, 36, has taken his relationship to the next level, getting engaged to Hsu, 28, over what appeared to be a magical Parisian getaway. On Sunday, Liu shared the happy news with fans via Instagram, posting a photo of Hsu flashing her new engagement ring.
“From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always,” Liu wrote, marking a heartfelt tribute to their time together.
Hsu kept things simple and sweet in her own announcement, sharing a collection of photos of the two posing on a balcony with the Eiffel Tower glowing behind them. Her caption? “Us forever.”
The couple, who started dating in 2022, have kept their relationship grounded amid Liu’s rising fame—from his breakout role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to appearances in Barbie and the hit series Kim’s Convenience.
Liu has been open about the profound impact Hsu has had on his life. In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, he credited her with helping him slow down and appreciate what really matters.
“She’s absolutely changed my life,” Liu said. “She’s taught me the importance of making time for the people you love and being intentional with your relationships.”
