There are a few sports manga/anime series out there but there’s one manga that popularised basketball in Japan and it’s coming back!
Originally ended 24 years ago, Inoue Takehiko announced that the Japanese manga series Slam Dunk will be returning in 2020!
The new issue is titled “PLUS/SLAM DUNK ILLUSTRATIONS 2” and will be released in April 2020 bringing the characters back in a compilation of 130+ illustrations.
The issue will also include 11 new illustrations but will not have a new story arc, seeing as how the original ended perfectly back in 1996.
While many other sports manga/anime like Kuroko’s Basketball was released over the years, many considered Slam Dunk to be the best sports series!
