Joe Moreno is a high school senior who lives in Corpus Christi, Texas. Like many other high school students, Joe was excited about prom, and was thinking about what to wear, how to go, and most importantly, who to take. Though, for Joe, that last question wasn’t hard to answer.

He took his mum, Vanessa, as his date to prom because she never got to go to prom herself. Vanessa had Joe when she was 17, and had to drop out of high school to focus on giving him the best life she possibly could.
Joe went all out to make the night special for his mum. He asked school officials beforehand if he could invite her. When they gave him the green light, he helped her pick out a prom dress and got her a corsage. He even picked her up just like a real date would!

He shared a couple of photos from prom night and Twitter went cray cray! The tweet currently has 176K likes and 30k retweets. People were touched by his sweet gesture towards his mum. Who wouldn’t?
Speaking to BuzzFeed, Joe said, "Me and my mum have a unique relationship. She has really pushed me to do the best and focus on the important things like school. My mum is also a great and caring individual who loves to have fun, through vacations and all. She has pushed me and my two younger siblings to be the very best."
