According to a study by researchers at the University of Westminster, watching scary movies apparently helps you burn calories!

Of course it also depends on which movie you’re watching. The researchers did a study on 10 films and found that jump scares in movies increases your heart rate, and that contributes to calorie burn.

"As the pulse quickens and blood pumps around the body faster, the body experiences a surge in adrenaline. said Dr Richard Mackenziesenior.
“It is this release of fast-acting adrenaline, produced during short bursts of intense stress (or in this case, brought on by fear), which is known to lower the appetite, increase the basal metabolic rate and ultimately burn a higher level of calories."

In another study by US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, watching horror movies also makes our body produce more white blood cells.
